Arguable, they didn’t have a very strong bond other than the Fellowship itself. At least, not film-wise. In the books they were much closer, Legolas teaching Frodo about the philosophies and histories of the Elves, and also escorting him into Lothlorien after Haldir.

and yet was an atheist from the ages of 15 to 31. It was J.R.R. Tolkien that argued the point of Christianity and was greatly responsible for Lewis’ conversion. And yet no one quotes him on religion, except in the cases or Eru Iluvatar/ the Valar/ the Maiar.
