I wish the ring had never come to me: Wait. The more I think about it, the more this new 'policy' of tumblr is freaking me out.

I agree, I would like to know where they’re going to draw the line on “joking”. I don’t think that certain words will be a trigger, just certain tags, and that whoever is moderating will have to think before they put up the disclaimer. Which is what they’re going to do, just put a disclaimer, not shut down everyone’s blogs. I think if they shut down any blogs, they’re going to shut down the ones that say that these things are okay or good to do. I had an eating disorder once, but I think if I talk about my experience, Tumblr will put the disclaimer and that will be it. They can’t shut me down for talking about an experience.

Also, with the whole “alcohol, smoking, etc”, I think they’ll probably leave that alone for the most part. Alcohol, when consumed in small amounts, is not harmful to the body, in fact it can do you good. And as far as the nudity and pornography… well, as long as people aren’t getting hurt, and everyone involved consented to it, I think it’ll also be left alone. And with nudity, goodness knows it’s a natural thing, we were born without clothing, and I really don’t see anything that’s so terribly wrong with it that an open forum such as Tumblr that caters to so many would really take it down. Again, maybe they’d put up a disclaimer, but other than that, I can’t see them shutting down blogs for something like that…

I’ve just had a thought though…

What about SuicideGirls and things of the like? They’re a modeling agency, they don’t promote suicide or self harm in any way, but I mean, if you’re going to tag it… I wonder if they’d go after that with the disclaimers, or just leave it be? Hm. Time will tell.
